Google celebrates 160th anniversary of first Indian train journey

Tuesday�s Google Doodle commemorates the 160th anniversary of the first Indian passenger train journey. The doodle is on Google�s Indian homepage and shows a locomotive in place of Google�s first O.
India�s first passenger train journey was from Bori Bunder in Bombay (now Mumbai) to Thane. It took place on 16th April, 1853. The train was led by three locomotives � Sahib, Sindh and Sultan. The journey covered 34 kilometres in 21 minutes.
