Bank Employees strike on 22nd October!

The General Secretary of the All India Bank Employees Association, C. H. Venkatachalam informed that it is certain that the bank employees will go on strike protesting against the proposed merger of banks. He shared:
‘We have already given notice that we will go on strike on 22nd October protesting against the merger of banks. The secretary of the central government Department of Finance had promised that a team will be formed to discuss regarding the merger. Hence, the Bank Employees Association withdrew the strike proposal. However, we have now stressed that the merger is not required at all. This strike will definitely happen. In the 1st Phase, we have planned to go on a 1-day strike. Further activities will be decided later.’
