Jaya reads out proof in Assembly

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa today read out proof that Mahatma Gandhi wanted the Congress party to dissolve after independence.
Municipal Administration and Water Supply Minister K.P. Munusamy had said at the Assembly on Monday that the Father of the Nation wanted the Congress to dissolve after Independence. Congress members present S. Vijayadharani and Prince refuted the claim and demanded proof for the same.
In response, Ms. Jayalalithaa read out an excerpt from �The Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi Vol. 90� that said, Though split into two, India having attained political independence through means devised by the Indian National Congress, the Congress in its present shape and form, i.e., as a propaganda vehicle and parliamentary machine had outlived its use.�
