NIFT students protest fee hike

Students of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) have taken to protesting after the Institute announced a hike in the fees for the upcoming year. Students from NIFT campuses all across the country are already protesting and their Chennai counterparts are the latest to join.
�I submitted the four-year fee structure at the time of sanctioning of the loan, and this is becoming unaffordable�, said one student. Another student said, �Since the college is located in Taramani, we travel into the city to get materials at a fair price (an extra cost).� Officials of the Institute say that as decisions like these are made at the head office in Delhi, they are awaiting orders from there.
