The central government has planned to construct 1 Crore houses before the year 2022 under the �Prime Minister Awas Yojana exclusively for the poor people of the society who do not own houses.
The 43rd meeting was conducted yesterday (Tuesday, 26th February) at Delhi presided by the President of the Central Approval and Monitoring Committee and the Secretary of the central department of Housing and Urban Affairs, Durgasankar Misra.
In this meeting, approval was granted for the construction of 12174 houses in Tamil Nadu, 1158 houses in Puducherry, and 560695 houses throughout India for the poor and downtrodden society.
The officials informed that, so far, approval has been granted for the construction of 7904674 houses.
