Chain snatcher caught by public

A 35 year old chain snatcher was arrested and sent to Puzhal jail after being caught by the public and handed over to the police.
John Syed snatched a businessman�s chain while the businessman was walking on the road in Virugambakkam. Syed was on a motorbike. The public chased him and caught up with him. Syed confessed to the police that he was involved in several such crimes.
According to the police, Syed would steal jewellery from innocents and then go to Mumbai where he would lie low for a while before returning and repeating the process.
