Chennai city to have mind museum in the future

In the future people visiting the popular Egmore museum in Chennai would be surprised to see a mind museum also. This mind museum would be set up as gallery inside this Egmore museum. The upcoming mind museum would be dedicated to mental health treatment in India. Mr. Ma Foi. Pandiarajan, minister for Tamil official language and Tamil culture, grabbed the attention of many on Sunday, 9th December 2018. He spoke at an event yesterday in Chennai and announced that Chennai would have a mind museum to be set up inside the Egmore museum. He added that there are 54 galleries inside the museum at Egmore and the upcoming mind museum would be the 55th gallery. The minster explained the importance of the mind museum and said the museum would help in educating the people regarding the mental health plus it would also help in providing information regarding the treatment for mental health and information regarding its evolvement.
Speaking about mental health of the people, minister Pandiarajan said mental health is most important factor that influences the lives. He then spoke about how in the initial years people having mental issues were tied with chains and were confined to the four walls of the room. He was happy that the situation has changed totally as the mentally ill persons are now treated and integrated with the society. He finally stated about how it is important to showcase the changes and keep getting better. In Istanbul in Turkey there is a popular mental health museum is well known. It is now said that this upcoming mental health museum in Egmore would be set up along the lines of above mentioned mental health museum of Istanbul. It is now brought out by the minister of Tamil official language that the state government is deciding on other processes such as funding and source materials.
To set up the gallery inside the popular Egmore museum, NGOs working in the field of mental health would be roped in. This was confirmed by the minister. Established in the year 1851, Egmore museum is the second oldest museum in India and is built in Indo-Saracenic style is known.
