The Meteorological Centre has warned that there are prospects for heavy rains in the next few days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as a new depression format has developed over the Bay of Bengal.
The officials from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained regarding this:
There are prospects of a low-pressure formation over the Bay of Bengal in a day or 2, Because of this, there are possibilities of medium rain in the next few days in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai Metro will remain generally cloudy. There are prospects of rain with thunder in a few places.
The depression zone which developed over the Bay of Bengal intensified and transformed into cyclone ‘Daye’ which crossed the coast in the region in South Odisha and North Andhra near Gopalpur.
Presently, the depression zone over the interior of South Odisha has weakened to a certain degree and is prevailing as a low-pressure formation.
