Posted on: 03/Sep/2018 3:01:32 PM
New high-tech sensor based track will be introduced in Chennai for the conduction of driving license tests. Within few months the proposed sensor based track system will be started in the RTO premises of Sholinganallur said the sources. Apart from this the issuing of driving license and Registration Certificate (RC) in the smart card format is expected to roll on within a few weeks.

A dedicated RTO (Regional Transport Office) is constructed on a seven acres land situated at Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi road that connects the Old Mahabalipuram road with the East Coast Road (ECR). The initial phase of construction has been started with the completion of compound walls. It is low lying area primarily attached to the shore line of ECR and so the land filling works are progressed quickly for the completion of the building said the sources of RTO.

Automatic Vehicle test working entirely on the input and output systems with sensors will remove the human intervention from the tests and also reduces the overall time taken for such complex analysis to issue license for each individuals. According to a report from a senior officer of Transport Department the sensors and cameras in the entire testing system will be surveilled and valued from a control room. If any mistakes are made while driving the computer will note it down in the server using the automatic control system. In the end the completed tests will be provided with a final report to the applicant.

This system will help to identify poorly skilled drivers not to get driving license that will impact on the reduction of road accidents. Also the increasing applicants nowadays cannot be monitored and analyzed with a manual traditional system and so the automatic track may come as a best alternative saving lots of time.

If the applicant has doubts regarding the automatic reporting then they can request for the proof. Considerable record and videos will be sent to the applicants for the clarification. However the 8-shaped tests conducted for two wheelers is not included in this automatic system and will be continued with a manual verification. The transport department also mentioned the smart card issuing will largely help in name transfer and other detail verification in the future for all the applicants.
