5% discount on train ticket fares

A special concession of 5% discount on the train ticket fares is being offered to the passengers who reserve their train tickets at the ticket counters in the Railway Stations from 2nd April.
The Indian railways had decided to offer this 5% discount on the train ticket fare to the passengers who book their tickets on the Railway Station ticket counters where the facility for the digital transaction through UPI (Unified Payments Interface).
This scheme will be implemented on a trial basis for 3 months from 2nd April.
This scheme can be availed only while booking on the Railway station reservation ticket counters. The minimum ticket fare must be above Rs. 100. A maximum discount up to Rs. 50 can be availed.
Southern Railway has further announced that this scheme will not be applicable to those who take monthly season tickets and those who book tickets online.
