Banks will remain open and function till 8.00 PM today (31st March)

As the deadline for filing Income Tax returns concludes today (Saturday, 31st March), the Reserve Bank of India has ordered that the banks should function today (31st March) till 8.00 PM to facilitate the public who file their Income Tax returns.
The Reserve Bank of India has also announced that all its branches and all the Income Tax Offices will remain open till 8.00 PM today. Electronic financial transactions will be accepted till 12.00 midnight.
The Reserve Bank of India explained that it has initiated the above action as the 1st and 2nd of April are public holidays and in order to reduce the hardships of the public who file Income Tax returns.
