Traffic diversion in Mylapore due to Panguni Peruvizha

From 22nd of March till 29th of March 2018 the highly popular Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple located in Mylapore in Chennai would be busy with many devotees due to Panguni Peruvizha. As a result the city police had announced that traffic in Mylapore would be diverted.

It is now brought out that this diversion would be effected around this popular temple and around Ramakrishna Mutt Road.

It is worthy to note that no vehicles would be allowed towards the temple from these junctions. Towards Mathalanarayanan Street from Kutchery Road, East Chitrakulam Street towards North Chitrakulam Street, Nadu Street and Sundareswarar Street towards East Mada Street, R.K. Mutt Road towards South Mada Street, St Mary’s Road towards R.K. Mutt Road junction, Dr Ranga Road towards Venkatesa Agraharam Road and Luz Junction towards R.K. Mutt Road.

It is important to mention that vehicles and MTC buses moving from Royapettah High Road towards Mandaveli and R.K. Mutt Road would be diverted at the popular Luz Junction towards Luz Church Road, D’Silva Road, Bakthavatsalam Road, Dr Ranga Road, C.P. Ramaswamy Road and ST. Mary’s Road. These vehicles and MTC buses would then reach Mandaveli junction and R.K. Mutt Road.

Another important piece of information is vehicles moving towards Luz Junction from Adyar would be diverted at the Mandaveli junction and they would move towards V.K. Iyer Road, Sringeri Mutt Road, Warren Road, Dr. Ranga Road, East Abhiramapuram 1st Main Road, Luz Avenue, Nageswara Rao Park, Luz Church Road, Karpagambal Nagar, Vivekanada College, PS. Sivasami Salai, Royapettah High Road and then reach the Luz Junction.

It is now said on all the festive days the MTC buses that start from the Mylapore Tank terminus would start from Amrutanjan Company present on the Luz Church Road.

On Sannadhi Street, East Mada Street plus others like South Mada Street and R.K. Mutt Road there will not be any parking available on 28th March and 29th March.

Traffic diversion during the car festival would be in effect from 5 am on 28th March and on the following day on 29th of March there would be traffic diversion from 2 pm. This 29th March is the Arubathumoovar Peruvizha day and is very special for the devotees.
