For the birth certificates reproductive and child health ID is compulsory

For those parents who are expecting their child soon here comes one piece of news that might take them by surprise. The news is starting from 1st of April 2018 RCH or Reproductive and Child Health ID number must be provided by the parents expecting their newborn. This is to download the birth certificates of their babies.
A unified portal to download birth and death certificates has been planned and this was confirmed by an official belonging to Greater Chennai Corporation. It is also said that the above mentioned would be carried out if the department of public health goes according to its schedule.
It must be noted that village as well as urban based nurses are involved in uploading the details of the expecting mothers. These details have been stored in the PICME or Pregnant and Infant Cohort Monitoring and Evaluation software and 12 digit RCH ID numbers have been issued.
After getting registered in PICME software the soon to be mothers could get RCH ID from PHCs plus government hospitals and urban PHCs etc. Registration from home is also possible now and it was confirmed by an official of department of public health.
According to the official from 1st April onwards this new facility would begin and for downloading the birth certificates of their newborns parents must give RCH ID number.
Forged birth certificates have been a major issue for many years is well known to us. It is revealed that the above mentioned process would eradicate irregularities and crimes based on forgery of birth certificates. One main advantage of the above process is continuous ante-natal care given for the mothers from the hospitals and that would be superb.
Mr K. Kolandaswamy, director of public health, spoke about how some private hospitals doesn�t register in the PICME and get RCH IDs. He highlighted that the private hospitals would be forced to go according to the rules hereafter because RCH ID has been made compulsory for the birth certificates.
One important piece of information is the department of public health or DPH is now planning to make aadhaar number of the family members to download the death certificates of the family member who has passed away.
It is known that public health is a science and art of preventing diseases leading to increase of life span of an individual. Public health is also involved in the promotion of physical health as well as efficiency by means of organised effort of the state.
