SBI flag�s off its first edition �SBI Green Marathon� to promote sustainability

State Bank of India - the country�s largest bank - launched its annual flagship programme �SBI Green Marathon� to promote sustainability. Wilson Cheriyan, Arjuna Awardee (Swimming) and Sebastian Xavier, Arjuna Awardee (Swimming) & Olympian along with Shri Venkat Nageswar Chalasani, DMD, Global Markets, SBI flagged off the event that witnessed more than 3000 enthusiastic runners. The Sunday morning in the Dr. Ambedkar Law University area, observed participants from across the city running 2, 5, 10 Kms marathon and pledged for a greener future. Senior officials of the bank also contributed to the �Run for Green� theme and ran the marathon along with other participants. All the runners were given saplings to promote clean and green city and the runners� bib consisted of seeds for tree plantation post Marathon. SBI Green Marathon in the last 20 days has covered 4 cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Ahmedabad with the event concluding in Chandigarh on the 4th of March, 2018.
