Good rains lash Tamil Nadu, to continue for 24 hours

The state of Tamil Nadu had been witnessing almost dry and comfortable weather conditions for quite some time now. So much so that only light rains were being witnessed over the state and good showers. However, the last 24 hours were quite rainy for the region with three-digit rains lashing some parts of the city of Chennai.
These rainfall activities can be attributed to the low pressure which is persisting over Southeast Sri Lanka coast. Not only this, heavy showers had occurred over the region due to the development of convective clouds over the region.
Now, during the next 24 hours, rainfall intensity will witness a massive reduction over the region. However, light to moderate rains may continue over southern parts of Tamil Nadu. After 24 hours, almost dry weather conditions will prevail over the entire state of Tamil Nadu.
