The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting the recommendations of 7th pay commission cleared with a few modification. Accordingly, 48 lakh central government employees are likely to receive HRA hike from 1st July. The range of HRA hike will be 106 to 157 percent with effect from the present month, say reports.
On 28th June, the Union Cabinet approved the suggestions made on 7th Central Pay Commissions. There are about 34 modifications and this will result in Rs 30,748 crore burden on the national exchequer.
This allowance increase has come to effect from the 1st of July, and this is based on Committee of Allowances recommendations. As per the 7th CPC recommendations, the exchequer will be quoted with Rs 29,300 crore more. Per annum, about Rs 1,448 crore to Rs 30,748 crore will be the increased burden for the Union Cabinet under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
