Corn price up

The farmers in harvest corn as the main harvest or sowing it amongst turmeric/sugarcane plants in the areas of Namakkal district, Paramathivelur Taluk.
After the harvest, they separate the corn and auction for sales to the local traders and Fair-Price warehouse.
The entrepreneurs making cornflour or popcorn buy the corn from the farmers on auction. Last week a ton of corn was sold at Rs, 20000 per ton.
In an auction conducted on 2nd July, corn was sold at Rs. 21000 per ton.
As the demand for corn has gone up, the price of corn has also gone up by Rs. 1000 per ton.
