BSNL to provide Wi-Fi Hotspot Services in 750 locations in Tamil Nadu

BSNL, the public sector communication service provider, has been coming up with various projects and offers for its share of business in competition with the private sector Telecom providers.
As one of the initiatives, BSNL is set to provide Wi-Fi hotspot facility in 750 locations throughout Tamil Nadu.
These facilities will be set up in locations where there is a large gathering of the public such as parks, hospitals, Bus/Railway stations, and government offices.
This facility will be provided in 750 locations throughout Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs. 22 Crores.
So far, 203 Wi-Fi hotspots have been set up. The balance will be set up by the end of this year.
Customers using different internet service providers can avail internet facility free for 15 minutes in these locations. For further use, they can recharge through e-coupons.
Even the people who are leaving for abroad, can recharge through e-coupons and avail the Wi-Fi hotspot facility. This facilitates internet usage at very competitive rates.
