79842 applications have been received for admission to private schools under the Free Compulsory Education Rights Act. The admission will be on a lucky draw basis.

The government has announced that the selected students will be admitted to the concerned schools before 5th June.

The list of the children who had applied to various schools will be downloaded today (Tuesday, 30th May). In case the number of applications received equals or less than the quota, all the students will be admitted in their preferred schools. This list will be given by the respective district primary education officers to the respective schools on 31st May (Wednesday).

In case the number of application received is more than the quota, the students will be admitted on a lucky draw basis on 31st May in the respective schools. A representative from the department of education and a representative nominated by the district collector will be sent to participate and oversee the lucky draw conducted in the respective schools.

The lucky draw will be held in the presence of the parents of the students and the school principal. In case there are an excessive number of applications than the proposed quota in some schools, the senior officials of the district education department and revenue department will visit the lucky-draw occasion and monitor the same.

In the 1st Phase, the applications from the special group of students who were denied better opportunities, such as destitute children, children affected by HIV, transgenders, children of sanitary cleaners, and the differently-abled children will be given priority and admission will be offered straight away without any lucky draw.

In the 2nd Phase, the lucky draw for the children who reside within 1 km distance of the schools with denied opportunities will be conducted.

If there are remaining seats after the above 2 Phases, the lucky draw will be conducted for the children who reside in place more than 1 km away from the school.

A waiting list for admission will be prepared for 5 seats of every section of the entering class. In case, the selected children do not join, the children who are on this waiting list will be given admission. Selected children will be given admission in the respective schools before 5th June.
