Cable TV operators book 38 Lakhs Set-top boxes from Arasu Cable TV

The local cable TV operators have booked for 38 Lakhs set-top boxes from the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited.
With due consideration for public demand, the deadline for booking set-top boxes has been extended until 21st May.
The Managing Director of Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited. J. Kumarakurubaran, explained that all the local areas cable TV operators who are working under the network of Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited will have to book set-top boxes in order to get the new digital signal and continue operations.
It had been advised earlier that the local cable TV operators have to inform the number of set-top boxed required (SD and HD) online www.tactv.in. So far, bookings have been received for 38 Lakhs set-top boxes.
Now, the cable TV operators have asked for an extension of the deadline for booking as they require some more time to ascertain the customer preference of SD or HD and then inform/book. Accordingly, the deadline has been extended to 21st May.
Presently, the local cable TV operators get the link from the district Arasu Cable TV centres and distribute to the customers. Now, it is planned to set up Taluk-wise centres.
So, the local cable TV operators need to inform their preferred Taluk online to get the digital signals before 21st May.
