The Election Commission has officially announced that the R.K Nagar legislative assembly constituency by-election stands cancelled.
The by-election was scheduled on 12th April. There were 62 contestants.
There were persistent complaints about money being distributed to the voters.
The Income Tax officials informed that some important documents/items have been collected.
Following the repeated complaints of illegal activity of money distribution to the voters, a detailed meeting was conducted in Delhi. After this, a decision to cancel the by-election was taken.
The Election Commission has officially declared the cancellation of the by-election.
