10 killed in stadium collapse in Sriperumbudur college

10 migrant labourers working at the construction site of an engineering college near Sunguvarchatram in Kancheepuram district died after wall and ceiling of an under-construction stadium collapsed.
Police said 17 migrant labourers from Odisha were involved in the construction of a basketball stadium for the past two weeks at Kunnam village, about 70 kilometres from Chennai.
Around 3 pm, portions of the outer wall, pillar and ceiling collapsed, crushing the labourers to death.
