Rubella vaccine camp from today in Tamil Nadu

Rubella vaccine camp will be held from 6th February to 28th February at anganwadi centres, government, aided, corporation, matriculation, CBSE Board, play schools, pre-KG schools, Child Labour and special schools. The vaccine will be administered to children aged between nine months and 15 years. Tamil Nadu State had a targeted population of 1.8 crore children. Indelible ink would be marked on the left thumb of the vaccinated child for identification.
In the first phase, this Rubella vaccine camp will be held in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, Puducherry and Lakshadweep. In Tamil Nadu, the camp will be held from 6th February to 28th February. After this, it will be included in the usual National Immunization Scheme. Some children will get fever and allergy after a week�s time due to this vaccine. Public need not panic because of this. It happens usually when vaccines are given. Since this Rubella vaccine is administered for the first time, the parents and teachers will be given information leaflets.
