Sabarimala Padi Pooja is booked till 2033

Padi Pooja, or the pooja of the Pathinettam Padi, is performed in the evening on certain days at the temple. Padi pooja in the name of the 18 Hill Gods of Lord Ayyappa is conducted after Pushpabhishekam. Thantri performs the ritual in the presence of Melsanthi. The hour-long ritual by decorating the Holy Steps with flowers and silk cloths after lighting traditional lamps on each step concludes with performing aarathi by the thantri.
Now Sabarimala Padi Pooja is booked till 2033 and the devotees who want to perform it will have to wait till 2034. To perform this pooja one has to pay Rs 75000. Since there is heavy crowd during Makara and Mandala season, the padi pooja will not be performed for these 60 days.
This pooja will now be performed during monthly openings.Udayasthamana Pooja another important ritual at Sabarimala temple is booked till 2023. The ritual cost is Rs 40000. Women are requested not to bathe in the Pampa River.
