On 1st September, Reliance Industries had announced that it will offer free voice calling and roaming services to all its users and that mobile data will be made available at rate one-tenth lesser than the original market rate.
A Welcome offer was introduced on 5th September which provides free data, voice and video to all Jio customers. This was announced with the deadline as 31st December 2016. However, there had been speculations that the offer be extended until March 2017. It was further speculated that official confirmation and announcement in this regard will be made on 28th December.
According to Jio data plans, the rates will be approximately Rs 50 per GB. As per the Rs 149 plan, users will be able to get free voice calling for both local as well as STD, free roaming, and 100 free SMS together with 0.3 GB of 4G data. With the Rs 4999 plan, users can get 75 GB of 4G data along with unlimited access to 4G mobile data with a validity of 28 days. The other plans available with Reliance Jio includes Rs 499, Rs 999, Rs 1499, Rs 2499, and Rs 3999. Other than the Rs 149 plan, all the others come with free unlimited SMS.
