Indian Android smartphone users too at data theft risk

It has been recently found that the secrets of Indian Android smartphone users are being stolen.
This has been found from a joint research effort of American Safety Development Council, Homeland Safety Department, and Kryptowire.
One Indian out of every 5 Indian users are using Chinese make Android phones. The Android devices used in these phones are available from the hugely popular online trading companies like Amazon, BestBuy, etc.
The text messages, contact numbers, and the conversations from these Indian users are stolen and sent to Chinese servers. It has been recently found that China has been selling these secrets to third parties.
It has been traced that the Chinese Company Shanghai Adups Technology Co Ltd has been in the background of the stealing and selling operations.
The shocking news that around 94 percent of Indian users � around 250 million users � have been using these Android devices.It is also found that similar data-stealing has been carried out from some of the USA Android users.
Tarun Pathak expert from Mobile Devices and Ecosystems at New Delhi-based Counterpoint Research, informed that warnings are being issued in order to improve digital safety conditions and also several awareness programs have been initiated.
In recent times, it has also been noted that call data are being stolen from WhatsApp Video Calling. The expert Tarun has requested the Indian users to be cautious while making/receiving video calls.
