Cracker shops starts selling crackers from yesterday at Island Grounds

On occasion of Deepavali festival, 58 cracker shops have been permitted to set up the stalls in the Island Grounds in Chennai. The sales of firecrackers began yesterday. The shops in Island Grounds will be opened till 10 pm. On 28th (previous day of Deepavali) the shops will be opened for 24 hours. Fire extinguishers, buckets of sand and water have been kept outside every stall and Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services personnel and police officers are constantly on vigil.
