Mettur Dam water to be released from 20th September

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has ordered the release of water from Mettur Dam for Samba rice harvest from 20th September.
A brief on the press release in this regard:
Water is being released from Mettur dam after considering that Northeast monsoon will be normal. Currently, the Mettur dam water is 84.76�.
It is also hoped that the Cauvery Monitoring committee would order the Karnataka state government to continue releasing the water as required as per the Supreme Court Order.
Based on these 2 hopes, the order has been issued to release water from Mettur Dam.
