Google to drop Nexus and switch over to Pixel

There have been rumors that Google is likely to drop its Nexus branding and that the name will be replaced with Pixel. To note, Pixel is the name with which Google had its tablets and Chromebook devices in use in the past.
Apart from this, Google is also likely to launch two smartphones in this name. One of these will have a 5 inch display and the other one with 5.5 inch said to be the XL sized model. Android Nougat platform will power the device. These devices will be the first of its kind in adopting Qualcomm�s Snapdragon 821 chip.
It is expected that these phones will get launched on 4th October and that it will be available for sale thereafter.
