Several labour Unions have decided to go on strike protesting against the recent modifications proposed by the central government on labour welfare. The unions have announced the plan to go on a general strike on 2nd September.
All India Bank Employees� Association General secretary Mr C. H. Venkatachalam informed that the bank employees will also join this strike.
The Labour Unions had given notice on 30th March that they will go on 1-day strike on 2nd September throughout the country.
The Unions - INTUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SWA, AICTU, UTUC, and LPF � have announced that they will all join this 1-day general strike on 2nd September.
BMSU (Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Union), with RSS in the background, alone, will not participate in the strike.
It is worth remembering that last year also, there was a general strike observed on 2nd September.
