Chennai Stanley Hospitals unique achievement - 10 Kidney transplant operations in a month

The Chennai Stanely Hospital, functioning with the latest equipment, has a proud record of performing 10 kidney transplant operations in a month.
Kalapana from Perambur, Jayanthi from Otteri, Suresh Babu from Thiruvotriyur, Arumugam from Aalappaakkam, Karpagam from Kattur, Lakshmi from Kolathur, Nalini from Melavur, Sundaramurthy from Seyyalur, Sasikala from Bangalore, and Devi from Medvakkam have been suffering from kidney disorders.
A team headed by Transplant Surgery Professor Dr. Rajaraman and Nephrology Department Professor Edwin Fernando performed the kidney transplant operations for the above patients.
The kidneys were given by some relatives and other donors. The transplant operations were Stanley Hospital successfully completed.Dean Isaac Christian Moses had a session with the press reporters.
All the departments in the Stanley Hospital have been equipped with the latest facilities for the benefit of the poorer section of the society. So far, from January till now, 24 kidney transplant operations have been conducted successfully.
10 kidney transplant operations have been performed in the last 1 month.Each transplant operation costs between Rs. 6 to Rs. 8 Lakhs. This has been done free of charge. The patients will have to come for regular checkups during the next 1 year. The blood tests are also done free.
This has been made possible only because of the donors. So, everyone of us should come forward for donating organs.
