A Survey: Indian Companies more transparent than the Chinese

Posted on: 13/Jul/2016 10:05:57 AM
In a recent survey on international transparency in operations, it is established that Indian companies are more transparent than their Chinese counterparts.

It is established that Chinese companies are not that transparent.

International Transparency Organisation has released the survey results that
100 companies from 15 developing countries such as Russia, Brazil, and Mexico were taken for this survey.

India leads the list with maximum transparency.

19 Indian companies in the total list have scored 75 percent on the transparency regarding their organisation and investments. Indian Company Law is the most important reason for this.

It has come to the fore from this survey that Chines companies are in bad shape. They have scored only 1.6 points out of the maximum possible 10 points. Weak performance and the inability to execute the policies against corruption are cited as the main reasons for this as per the survey.

A maximum of 37 Chinese companies was taken for this survey. They are backward in the overall activities and aspects.

Some major Chinese companies, including the 3 companies - Cherry (automobiles), Glance (appliances), and Wasing (Auto spare parts) did not score even 1 point in the maximum possible 10.

The main reason attributed is the inability of the companies to implement and enforce policies against corruption. Also, they did not furnish the data as per the international standards.

Chinese companies have occupied the last 25 places in the list.

On the other side, Indian companies have occupied the leading positions.
The main reason attributed is the Indian Company Acts stringent enforcement of regulations. This is even followed by the foreign branches of Indian companies.

The leading telecommunication company, Bharathi Airtel, occupies the 1st position. It scored 7.3 points out of 10.

The next 6 places in the list, go to Tata Group companies and Wipro Group.

Only one Chinese company, EzetteE, a communication electronics spare parts company, is in the top 25 of the list.

The International Survey report mentions that it has noticed a pathetic situation. The report maintains that the immediate requirements are immediate implementation of activities against corruption.
