Woman referee from Tamil Nadu in FIFA matches

A 26 year old from Dindigul has qualified to officiate the international matches conducted by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). G. Rupa Devi is the first woman from Tamil Nadu to qualify for such a position.
Speaking about this, Ms. Rupa said, Football is the most famous game in the Dindigul region. As a child, I used to stand on the sides of the ground where the game was played and kick the ball, whenever it came to me.
Rupa has done her B. Sc. and B. Ed. in local colleges. She passed many tests and then enrolled in the Project Future Referees. This is a programme conducted by FIFA for referees. Her career has been sponsored by the Dindigul Football Association.
