Big and powerful Godzilla El Nino

Satellite images from NASA have shown unusually high sea surface heights in the Pacific Ocean, along the Equator. Experts have said that these are signs of warmer waters, and a big and powerful El Nino.  Warmer ocean waters let out more heat and moisture into the atmosphere. This alters the jet stream and moisture high in the atmosphere, affects storm tracks all over the planet.

A scientist at NASA has said, A comparison of the satellite images shows that 1997`s El Nino peaked in November, while this year`s is impacting a larger area of high sea levels in December. This could mean we have not yet seen the peak of this El Nino.

The scientists have dubbed the weather pattern Godzilla El Nino.
