Chief Justice of Supreme Court retires on 2nd December

The Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Mr. H. L. Dattu is retiring from services next month.
Following this, Supreme Courted started activities to select the next new Chief Justice.
The panel has recommended Justice T. S. Thakur.
The current Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Mr. H. L. Dattu is retiring on 2nd December.
As per the tradition and regulations, the central government will scrutinize the recommendations of Chief Justice Dattu and after getting President`s approval, the name of the new Chief Justice will be announced.
Justice Mr. Thakur was the Chief Justice in the states of Punjab & Haryana High Courts. He was promoted as Justice to Supreme Court in 2009.
