Maggi to come back onto shelves in November

Nestle will resume sales of Maggi noodles in November this year. Food safety authorities in India had banned the production and sale of Maggi in May, due to dangerously high levels of lead in the product. In August, the Bombay High Court overturned the ban.
Sales of the beloved product tumbled after tests in government labs showed high levels of lead in some packets. Nestle`s Maggi holds 80% of India`s instant noodle market. After the announcement of lead levels, it destroyed 400 million packets of Maggi and Maggi products. In an official press release, the company has said that recent tests have shown that the levels of lead in the product are below permissible limits and that they are now safe for consumption
