The Railway Protection Force has warned that those who carry crackers in the trains will have to undergo three years imprisonment.
Carrying of inflammable goods, crackers and cooking are banned in trains. Since Deepavali is to be celebrated on 10th, there are chances of passengers carrying crackers. This warning has been made since some carry crackers without the knowledge of its danger and consequences.
The Railway Protection Force and Railway Police have been taking efforts to create this awareness among people in important railway stations. Yesterday awareness propaganda was made in Chennai Central Station and Chennai Moore Market Complex.
An officer of the Railway Protection Force said, "The crackers awareness camp will be held till Deepavali. Bit notices will be given to the passengers. Posters will be pasted in the rail coaches. It will also be displayed in the train arrival and departure screen. Even after this, if any passengers try to carry crackers they will be fined Rs 1000 and will also have to undergo three years imprisonment."
