Temporary stoppage in allotment of PAN

A central government notification informs that the allotment of Permanent Account Number � PAN � for Income Tax filing has been stopped temporarily for 5 days.
The main reason for this stoppage is the up gradation of software currently under use to have more features and quicker response.
Hence, allotment of PAN is temporarily stopped for 5 days from 5th October till 9th October as per the announcement released by the central government.
However, the applications for PAN will be entertained and received.
