Reserve Bank advises Rs. 50/- currency notes to be made available in ATMs!
Information is gathered that the Reserve Bank of India has advised all the banks that provision must be made to dispense Rs. 50/- currency notes also in all ATMs.
Higher banking officials circle in Delhi inform that all the banks have already initiated activities to provide dispensing of Rs. 50/- currency notes in all ATMs.
Currently, provision is available in ATMs to dispense only Rs. 100/- & Rs. 500/- currency notes. This creates demand for change. Also, many customers may be interested in taking lesser amounts. Keeping these 2 factors in consideration, the Reserve Bank of India prefers to include the dispensation of Rs. 50/- currency notes also in all ATMs.
State Bank of India has already taken action in this regard and introduced dispensing Rs. 50/- currency notes in several places in the city of Raipur.
