Thirupathi Sacred Umbrella procession on 14th in Chennai

On account of Karuda Sevai, the Thirupathi Sacred Umbrella procession will take place on 14th September in Chennai. At 4 P M the procession will cross Elephant Gate. On behalf of Tamil people, every year eleven sacred white silk  umbrellas will be taken in procession from Chennai  and offered at Thirumalai Lord Venkateswara on the occasion of Karuda Sevai. Wherever these umbrellas pass there will be prosperity, wealth and good health. 

Based on this the procession will kick start from Chennai Kesava Perumal temple in Sowcarpet area at 10 AM on 14th September. There will be special pooja at Kesava Perumal temple. From here the umbrellas will be taken in  procession which  will pass through NSC Bose Road, Govindappa Naicken Street and Wall Tax Road. At about 4 PM the procession will pass through Elephant Gate. Later on the procession will go to Ayyanavaram Kasi Vishwanathan Temple through Salt Quarters, St Thomas Road, Soolai High Road, Avathana Papaiah Salai, Perambur Barracks Road, Strahans Road, Konnur High Road and Takkar Chatiram.
 
On 15th the procession will pass through ICF, GKM Colony, Thiru Vi Ka Nagar, Perambur and Villivakkam. On 16th the procession will reach Avadi via Padi, Ambattur, Mogappair and Thirumullavayal.
 
On 17th the procession will reach Thiruvallur Veera Raghava temple via Pattabiram and Thiruninravur. On 18th it will reach Trichannur via Manavalanagar and Thirupachur. On 19th the procession will end in Thirumalai and the decorated sacred umbrellas will be handed over to the temple authorities.
