Entry-level salaries in India among lowest in APAC region

According to the latest Asia-Pacific starting salary study by Towers Watson`s Data Services Indian graduate entrants into the local job market stand towards the bottom of the Asia-Pacific pay league.The average monthly starting pay in India is around $400 (Rs 24,000), less than one-fifth of the equivalent paid in South Korea and Singapore.
Indian salaries for experienced professionals at middle management level are slightly more competitive. Yet, despite the recent push in its manufacturing sector and popularity of the IT sector, an engineering manager in India earns a salary ($ 56,530) that is almost half of his China counterpart ($1,12,070) and one-third of his Singapore counterpart ($ 1,51,168).
