India Post has entered into an agreement with private sector companies to sell household consumer durables. A brief on the press report from Postal Department:
India Post and e-trading company M V Karsha Mobile Solutions Private Limited have entered into a contract agreement. With this, customers can buy items like cell-phones, artificial jewellery, household consumer durable goods, and cloths from Post Offices. This facility will be made available at 522 Post Offices in Tamil Nadu & Puducherry.
Items can be bought from the Post Office after payment. This service will make e-trading available in small villages also. During the recent of finalising the contract, the head of the Tamil Nadu Postal Circle Mr. Charles Lobo, Postal commercial head Burmma, M V Karsha CEO Mr. Jayakrishnan, Managing Director Mr. Muthukrishanan signed the agreement.
