The Apollo Hospitals will team up with the Union Ministry of Communications and IT for telemedicine services. The launch is set to be on August 25th. Under this initiative, the public will be able to consult with doctors online, using video links. The patients will also be able to order generic drugs online.
Patients will need to visit Common Service Centres (CSC) to fix an appointment for a consult. After this, the doctors from Apollo Hospitals will consult the patients using video link facilities. There are 1.5 lakh CSC networks around the country. The Hospital will use the network to offer its services. Initially, the services will be used in 60,000 CSCs.
The initiative will help people from rural areas by giving them much needed medical help.
