R-Mitra a new app for women safety in train

The Eastern Railway Administration has launched a new mobile app called R-Mitra in order to ensure safety of women passengers. The app was launched by Railway minister Suresh Prabhu. There are several measures taken to ensure good safety of women passengers in railways. Women who make use of smartphones can download this app and be benefitted in getting in touch with the control room ad railway security team. The police officials at the railways can get to know about the location of the passengers through GPS. This app can also be used even without app, if its downloaded once
