As a move to meet all the concerns and troubles faced by students in the University of Madras and provide amicable solution to it, a campus coordinating committee is to being formed. All genuine and reasonable requests and problems of students will be met by this committee.

As a first step, a committee was set up at the Tholkappiar campus of the University of Madras. Following this, campus at Marina, Guindy, Taramani, etc will also be set up soon. Prof. Ramu Manivannan who was the head of Political Science, and Political Administration Department at the University of Madras was removed from his position and Prof Kodeeswara Prasad is appointed for the same. Opposing this, students belonging to this department have been fighting for about ten days.

A discussion was held at the university day before yesterday to arrive at a solution for the problem. Professors, lecturers and other staff members of the universities all of whom counted to 200 and more took part in the discussion. During the meet, the idea of setting up a committee for meeting students demands was proposed. The crew is intended to get into talks with the students and make them understand the practical situation prevailing in the university and bring the trouble to an end.

The committee will not just be of help for this issue, but for all the others that pops out in throughout. Speaking about this, the registrar of the university, Jawahar said there are troubles raising every now and then in the university. The vice chancellors or registrars find it tough to manage these issues without being able to focus on our duties. Hence setting up such a committee to meet all these troubles has become indispensable.
