Cochin International Airport to be the 1st Solar energy operated in India!

Cochin International Airport is set be the proud 1st airport in the country operating with solar energy.
Kerala state Chief Minister Mr. Oomen Chandy is scheduled to inaugurate the 12 MW capacity solar power station on 18th August.
Cochin International Airport requires 50000 to 60000 units of electrical energy daily.
Cochin Airport Managing Director Mr. V J Kurin informed that the solar plant would meet this requirement to an extent.
It is worth noting that a small solar energy plant of 100 kW capacity was installed in the reception lounge of the passengers arriving in the airport.
