Mysore tops the list of cleanest cities in India

Mysore has topped the list of cleanest city in India, and Trichy stands second. Among all state capitals, Bangalore stands top as the cleanest city.

After taking position as the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi kick started the scheme of Swach Bharat. He invited key personalities for the scheme as per which there were many who thronged in and got involved in various activities.

Amidst these, the Ministry of Urban Development has now rolled out a list of cleanest cities in India.

�         Solid waste management

�         Open defecation

�         Sewage disposal system

�         Sewage recycling system

�         Quality of drinking water

�         Quality of water in lakes and ponds

Diseases that spread through water and death caused out of it

Above are some of the factors that were taken into consideration to prepare the list of cleanest cities. Over 476 cities were considered for the same.

The city of Mysore in Karnataka state tops the list of 476 cities. Trichy of Tamil Nadu state stands second, said Ministry of Urban Development. It is also found that open toilets in Mysore are very less in numbers. And the city has got excellent toilet facilities.
Coming on to the cleanest city among all capital cities, capital of Karnataka, Bangalore stands top. Furthermore 3 other states of Karnataka have got ranking among the top 10.
In addition, 25 cities of West Bengal have taken place in the list of 100 cleanest cities. Over 39 south Indian cities have got their position among these 100. 27 eastern cities, 15 western cities and 12 northern cities have got their positions in the list. 7 Northeastern cities have taken place in the list too. To note, among the 100, just 15 state capitals have got their positions.
