IT gadgets/devices and cell-phones not to be permitted in the IAS/IPS Prelim exam

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has ordered that candidates writing IAS/IPS Prelim examinations will not be permitted to bring IT (Information Technology) gadgets/devices and cell-phones.

A press release from UPSC informs on this issue that devices like cell-phone, calculator, blue-tooth, etc will not be permitted inside the IAS/IPS Prelim Examination Hall.

Failure to comply will lead to disciplinary action including cancellation of permission to write the next examination.

UPSC has also insisted the candidates not to bring any costly items as security for the same cannot be guaranteed. UPSC cannot take the responsibility for missing items.

IAS/IPS examinations are conducted in 3 stages every year – prelim exam, main exam, and interview. The prelim exam for the year 2015 is conducted on 23rd August forenoon & afternoon.
