Nano technology used to make natural product that heals wounds

According to a paper published in the journal ACS Nano, scientists have found a way to take healing properties of peppermint oil and cinnamon and pack them into a capsule. Both peppermint oil and cinnamon are known for their anti bacterial properties and their ability to heal wounds effectively.
Researchers have used the ingredients� anti microbial compounds to make these compounds. The use of nano technology makes this product unique. Scientists have used cinnamaldehyde, which is the part of cinnamon that gives its flavour and aroma, along with the peppermint oil and converted into silica nanoparticles. This, in turn, have been packed into tiny capsules.
The new medicine may help when the need to remove infected tissue arises. It can be used as anti bacterial treatment topically. It is also a disinfectant.
