Artificial blood has been produced for the first time in the world!
Artificial blood is produced from the stem cells or the red corpuscles taken from the blood in umbilical cords.
Artificial blood was produced by a team of scientists from Bristol University & UK’s National Health Centre.
Further research is under way to check by transfusing this artificial blood into humans and find its suitability.
Scientists confirmed that their research was mainly to make available some rare blood groups difficult to get and not to avoid blood donation as practised now,
England’s National health Centre had announced recently that testing artificial blood by transfusing into human bodies will be taken up in 2 years – by 2017.
Scientists detailed that the artificial blood would be particularly beneficial to patients affected by anaemia or blood loss.
